Before you take a dive - TIPS to get prepared

Here are some of the tips from a UT Austin eMBA student who had just graduated (May 2007).

1. If you dont have any accounting background, brush up now: MBA Survival Kit, a preMBA resource from GMAC MBA.com will be very helpful.

2. Going thro the 'Statistics' fundamentals is also a good idea.
3. Read some books:
   MBA for dummies
   Winning by GE Jack Welch
4. Hone your MS-Word, MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint skils.
5. Pay Attention to CNN, CNBC, MSNBC business news. You can have a meaningful conversation in the class, improving your class participation. Subscribe Wall Street Journal, Business Week etc. (student rates may be avaiable).
6. Create your own support network, who have just completed, and those who can help you, some subject experts.
